Cookie Policy
An exact inventory of what we store in your browser. Non-essential storage is off until you opt in — nothing analytics- or marketing-related loads before consent.

1. What cookies and similar storage are
“Cookies” are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser. We also use similar browser storage — localStorage and IndexedDB — for the same kinds of purposes, so this policy covers those too.
2. How consent works here
- On your first visit a banner offers three equal choices: Accept all, Reject non-essential, or per-category Preferences.
- Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie for 12 months, after which we ask again. Rejecting is one click — exactly as easy as accepting.
- Analytics and marketing scripts do not load before you opt in. There is no “implied consent” — closing the page or scrolling is not consent.
- You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via (also linked in the footer of every page). Withdrawing stops future use; it does not undo processing that happened while consent was active.
3. Strictly necessary storage (always on)
These keep the product working — sign-in, security and remembering your consent choice. Under GDPR/ePrivacy rules they do not require consent, which is why they cannot be switched off.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sp_consent | First-party cookie | Stores your cookie-consent choice (this banner). | 12 months |
sp_token | localStorage | Your sign-in session token after email-code login. | Until you sign out or clear site data |
sp-chunks | IndexedDB | Offline retry queue on the phone-capture page, so video chunks survive a dropped connection. | Until uploaded or you clear site data |
4. Analytics (opt-in only)
We currently load no analytics scripts at all. If we introduce product analytics (for example PostHog), it will load only after you opt in to the Analytics category, will be configured without cross-site tracking, and this table will list every item it stores before it ships.
5. Marketing (opt-in only)
We currently load no marketing or advertising scripts. If we introduce campaign attribution (for example remembering UTM tags or ad click IDs so we know which campaign brought you here), it will activate only after you opt in to the Marketing category and will be listed here first. We do not run third-party advertising cookies on this site.
6. Third parties
Pages on this site set no third-party cookies. If you purchase credits, payment is completed with our payment provider (its own pages, its own cookie policy applies there). The Street Traffic Explorer loads map imagery from OpenStreetMap tile servers — a standard image request that sets no cookies on our pages.
7. Browser controls
Beyond our banner, every browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary storage will break sign-in and phone capture — everything else works fine without any optional storage.
8. Changes and contact
If we add or change any stored item, we update this inventory first and, where a new consent is legally required, the banner asks again. Questions: privacy@streetproof.app. See also the Privacy Policy.
